Foundation games
From Mgi
Often I would write a game based on the Asimov Foundation books. These would always be strategy-type games, probably because I had been playing Command and Conquer too much, and thought there should be a version "in space". They rarely stuck to the Asimov storyline (since the Asimov storylines rarely had any fighting).

1996
The first game I wrote in the Foundation "universe". It was inspired by Dune 2.
Early 1997
This game was one of the better ones of the Foundation series of games, however it no longer seems to work (in DOSBox, at least). You had to mine asteroids to make money, and you could build ships. There was also primitive AI, and the map was hidden until you discovered it. Unfortunately I can only get this one screenshot as the keyboard and mouse seem to lock up.
Late 1997
This version of Foundation was - I suppose - a rewrite of the previous one, and meant to be more stable. However, this one also crashes when it first starts, making it very difficult to get a screenshot! The idea of the game was very similar to the other 1997 one (mining asteroids, etc.). Ships would also incur damage by flying through asteroid fields.
1998
I think this was one of the first attempts I made at using C to develop a game. It was either DJGPP or Watcom. You could only select a ship and fly around using the arrow keys. It was also one of the first games I made that wasn't 320x200 in resolution.
1999
This Foundation game is from 1999. Probably the last one I really put some effort into. You can see there are 4 different types of ships. You can multi-select, move, attack, multi-attack and multi-move. The ships also randomly rotate, so it looks like they're "doing something".
